With the objective of improving the processes of environmental adaptation, the Secretary of the Environment in a joint way with the Public Ministry, the National Forest Service and the WWF carried out the Day of Environmental Adaptation.

An "Actions Updating" Day for the Program of Environmental Legal Adaptation (PAL), was carried out last October 6th in the installations of the Secretary of the Environment and will be extended until the afternoon today. It is organized by the Public Ministry, the Specialized Fiscal Unit of Environmental Crimes (UFEDA), the Forest National Service (SFN) and the SEAM.  The objective of this is to improve the efficiency of the criminal trials, referring to the serious environmental problems that daily affects our country.

The loss of biodiversity, the quality of the waters, non-renewable resources, the decrease of the quality of life of the people are the main worries that confront institutions as the Public Ministry (UFEDA) and the SEAM, both responsible for overseeing and sanctioning the ecological crimes. In this sense this instructive day seeks real change of attitude about the natural resources and its long-term utility.

Among some main objectives of the Program are: the re-establishment of the wooded cover in the zones of  the water courses protection stripes by means of reforestation with vision of compensation, re-establishment of the reserves of each property, established with the minimum of the 25% according to the administrative law, identification of programs that benefit the owners of wooded masses stimulating them to the conservation of these, the identification of capacities of the communities production, among others.

The Legal Advisor of the SEAM, Lawyer Juan Baptist Rivarola, declared in this opportunity, that we should take advantage of these kind of activities, so that all the institutions involved in watching the environment can work in a coordinated way and qualified for the effect. "People must respect the environmental laws, we must oblige them because if they continue corrupting the laws, we will lose the little remains of our natural resources"

The representatives of the National Forest Institute (INFONA), the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), representatives of the Moisés Bertoni Foundation and the Technical Committee of the Mbarakajú Reserve participated in this activity.
